Ukraine has presented a new middle-strike class unmanned strike system, CAPITAN.
F-DRONES told Militarnyi about the development during the Technological Forces of Ukraine event.
CAPITAN is a Ukrainian middle-strike drone system designed to detect and engage stationary and mobile enemy targets at an operational-tactical depth of up to 100 km.
This is an optimal solution for engaging targets in areas beyond the reach of standard FPV drones.
The CAPITAN UAV has a wingspan of 3 meters, is equipped with daylight and thermal imaging cameras, has a maximum takeoff weight of up to 27 kg, and can carry a payload of up to 10 kg.
The drone supports various communication and GPS-denied navigation systems (Starlink, F-LORA, digital and analog video links).
“The capability to conduct fully autonomous missions – from takeoff to target engagement – is currently being tested,” a representative of F-DRONES shared with Militarnyi.
A terminal guidance system and the Last Mile module provide accuracy for CAPITAN.
F-DRONES also has its own navigation and control software, which enables the integration of the UAV with radars, air defense systems, and GIS platforms.
“The testing process is currently underway to obtain codification. The drone has already completed the first stage of performance verification by the relevant commission,” the company added.
F-DRONES is one of the largest Ukrainian manufacturers of strike FPV drones, specializing in the development and production of unmanned aerial systems and counter-UAS solutions. The company is also one of the few Ukrainian defense companies exporting its products to the United States as part of the Drone Dominance project.
On July 15, Technological Forces of Ukraine held a community event that brought together senior officials from key European institutions, the foreign diplomatic corps, and Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Among the distinguished guests were representatives of the European Defence Agency and DG DEFIS, military attachés, and other senior officials from the embassies of Ukraine’s partner countries. Guests witnessed demonstrations of more than 30 innovative products from 18 TSU member companies.
The event was supported by manufacturing companies Quantum Systems, General Cherry, Helsing, Airlogix, Sine Engineering, and F-DRONES, with media partnership from Militarnyi, technical support from Himera Radios, and organizational support from Dronarium Ukraine.
