Strike drones repeatedly attacked the Russian company PJSC Energia, which is one of the main suppliers of components for the Russian defense industry.
This was reported by the resource Astra.
The main target of the attack was the PJSC Energia plant, which had already been attacked on the night of May 23 by a group of strike drones.
According to the resource, local residents noticed drones of unknown origin in the sky over the city of Yelets, followed by explosions.
The information about the repeated attack was also confirmed by the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, adding that the drone crashed in an industrial area.
The Russians sent helicopters – spotted by local residents – into the sky to intercept the drones.
It should be noted that the PJSC Energia company has suffered its second strike in two days. The city of Yelets in the Lipetsk region is located 200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
This Russian company specializes in the production of sealed lead-acid, nickel-cadmium, and lithium-ion batteries, uninterruptible power supplies, and electrochemical power sources standardized to military class.
The company is one of the largest battery manufacturers in Russia and plays a key role in the defense industry due to the specialization of its products. Its batteries have a wide range of applications and cover a range of weapons from military drones to intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to Russian contractor monitoring services, the company had multimillion-dollar contracts with more than 20 defense customers, both directly with the Russian Ministry of Defense and with Russian defense companies.
