Early on June 24, attack drones struck the Elektrokabel NN plant in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.

The Astra media outlet reported on this.

Regional governor Gleb Nikitin said a large-scale drone attack had continued since the night and confirmed that an industrial site was damaged.

An OSINT analyst for the outlet determined that the likely target of the strike was the Elektrokabel NN plant located in the village of Bezvodnoye.

A private house caught fire about one kilometer from the facility after a drone, reportedly shot down by Russian forces, crashed nearby.

“Since the night, a UAV attack on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region has been repelled. Air defense forces destroyed 23 drones. According to preliminary information, one industrial facility, several cars, and residential buildings were damaged by debris…,” the regional governor wrote in the morning.

Meanwhile, at first, local residents thought the drones were heading to attack the Lukoil Nizhny Novgorod refinery in Kstovo, which is much farther away and has already been hit several times.

The website of the Elektrokabel NN plant states that the enterprise has a powerful fleet of technological equipment to produce a wide range of in-demand cable and wire products.

If the plant was indeed a target of Ukrainian drones, this could suggest that Russia’s military industry uses its products.

On the morning of June 24, Ukrainian drones also attacked a Russian gas processing plant in Orenburg, after which a fire broke out on its territory.

The facility is part of Gazprom’s corporate structure and is a key element of Russia’s gas infrastructure.

The plant is considered the largest gas chemical complex in the world – its annual capacity is about 37.5 billion cubic meters of gas and over 1 million tons of gas condensate.
