Destroyed Russian military equipment to be exhibit in Kyiv before Independence Day

An exhibition of the destroyed Russian military equipment will be held in downtown Kyiv, at Khreshchatyk Street.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture.

The government on August 19 approved a plan of measures to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

Despite the full-scale war, Ukraine’s National Flag Day and Independence Day will be celebrated at the state level in 2022.

“This year the Independence Day of Ukraine is of particular importance for all Ukrainians. The war continues, and the invaders rage at their helplessness.

Ukrainians continue to adequately resist inhumans and impress the world with their indestructibility, strength and empathy for those who are nearby.

Right now we are experiencing a historic moment, our nation is tempered in the struggle. We will forever remember who is our friend and who is the enemy. I sincerely believe that very soon we will loudly celebrate our victory,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy.

Thus, the official solemn ceremonies of raising the State Flag of Ukraine in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, as well as in Ukraine’s embassies abroad and military units, will be held on August 23.

On August 24, the Motherland Monument in Kyiv and other iconic places will be illuminated with the colors of the State Flag of Ukraine, and in Saint Sophia Cathedral, priests of all churches will pray for Ukraine.

An exhibition of destroyed Russian military equipment will be held on Khreshchatyk Street.

During official events, a moment of silence will honor all those killed in the war against the Russian invaders.

Previously, a similar exhibition was held in Kyiv, on Saint Michael’s Square in May. Tanks, IFVs, electronic warfare systems, and other military equipment were installed on the square.
