The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) has signed a contract with Finnish company Patria for the production and delivery of 129 Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers (APCs), the agency said in a press release.
The first vehicles are expected to be delivered this year, enabling Danish troops to begin training and preparations ahead of broader deployment.
The bulk of the APCs will arrive at military bases starting in 2026.
The new vehicles will be integrated into units of the Danish Armed Forces’ new infantry battalion and heavy brigade.
They will be used by both infantry and engineering units and configured for various roles, including command and communications, medical evacuation, and electronic warfare.
Denmark joined the multinational Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) 6×6 wheeled vehicle program in April 2025, becoming the fifth participant after Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany.
Since then, Denmark has signed three additional agreements covering research and development, a framework for procurement, and lifecycle management — requirements for placing the order for the 129 APCs. The total contract value is estimated at around $275 million.
According to Patria, the company has received orders for nearly 1,000 Patria 6×6 vehicles under the CAVS program and has delivered more than 200 to date.
