The Dutch company DeltaQuad has presented the new Evo-LE unmanned aerial vehicle, featuring vertical takeoff and landing capability and up to eight hours of endurance.
The company told Militarnyi about the new UAV.
The Evo-LE is designed to conduct reconnaissance missions, monitor remote areas, perform border surveillance, and provide communications relay capabilities.
The aircraft was developed based on operator feedback and experience gained from thousands of flight hours with the company’s previous UAV models.
Depending on the payload configuration, flight profile, and operating conditions, the Evo-LE has a range of up to 480 km. Its radio communications range extends up to 120 km.
The UAV has a maximum takeoff weight of 13 kg and a payload capacity of up to 1.5 kg.
The aircraft features two batteries, a redesigned electrical architecture, and an upgraded vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) propulsion system.
“Achieving this level of endurance required changes across the entire platform, rather than simply increasing battery capacity. The redesigned configuration combines higher energy-density batteries, a dual-battery setup, a reworked electrical architecture, and an upgraded vertical takeoff and landing system,” Mark van Schie, Head of Product at DeltaQuad, stated.
The Evo-LE uses the reinforced DeltaQuad Block 3 airframe, constructed from new composite materials.
It also features dust and rain protection, as well as a heated pitot tube. Updated landing gear struts, which detach in a hard landing, help protect the airframe from damage.
The UAV can be equipped with anti-jamming capabilities, secure communications, and autonomous navigation systems.
Its vertical takeoff and landing capability allows the aircraft to operate from confined launch and landing sites.
