The Czech defense company CSG, which has invested in Canadian defense firm North Vector Dynamics (NVD), plans to supply Ukraine with NVD’s CM-70 interceptors.

The North Vector Dynamic announced this in a press release about CSG’s strategic investment in the company.

CSG Chairman and CEO Michal Strnad said the company plans to support NVD not only financially, but also with industrial expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and access to its commercial network.

“We want to provide our industrial expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and commercial network in Ukraine, NATO member states, and partner countries around the world,” Strnad said.

As a result, Ukraine is expected to become one of the key destinations for the potential deployment of North Vector Dynamics’ products. However, the companies have not yet disclosed specific delivery timelines, the number of interceptors, or the format of their transfer.

Militarnyi previously reported that Czech defense group CSG had invested in Canadian defense company North Vector Dynamics, which is developing low-cost CM-70 interceptor missiles.

The company is now actively expanding into international markets, both in ammunition production and in the development of low-cost interceptor missiles. Amid the widespread use of drones, such systems are becoming increasingly relevant and in demand.

On August 5, 2026, it was reported that the Czech defense group would invest $90 million in the Canadian company.

The CM-70 interceptor missile is compact and high-speed, specifically designed for the modern battlefield.

The missile weighs just 2.5 kg. After launch, it can reach speeds of more than 1,000 km/h and uses a combination of laser guidance and artificial intelligence to guide it toward its target.

CM-70 Specifications:

  • Length: 0.72 m
  • Effective range: 3.5 km
  • Speed: over 1,000 km/h
  • Guidance system: semi-active laser homing combined with artificial intelligence
  • Warhead: blast-fragmentation

This enables the CM-70 to engage fast and highly maneuverable drones with a high degree of accuracy at a significantly lower cost than missiles used by more expensive air-defense systems.
