Ukrainian Company BlueBird Tech Developing Domestic Air Defense Missiles

The Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech will develop anti-aircraft missiles to intercept enemy drones and missiles.

The company stated that its designs will be capable of intercepting cruise and ballistic missiles.

In the long term, this should reduce dependence on limited supplies from partners.

The company has already begun actively hiring specialists and is recruiting specialized engineers.

“The systems BlueBird Tech is working on will make life in Ukraine safer, particularly in terms of protection against Russian shelling. Additionally, domestic production of air defense missiles will make it cheaper to shoot down aerial targets compared to the systems we currently receive,” notes BlueBird Tech co-founder Valery Zarubin.

The company will work simultaneously in several areas of missile development.

In addition to defense systems, other solutions are being developed, the details of which are not currently being disclosed for security reasons.

“Currently, the main challenge lies in rethinking the cost of expensive missiles and transitioning to affordable, large-scale production using local capabilities,” explains Valerii Zarubin, co-founder of BlueBird Tech.

BlueBird Tech adds that Ukraine will see the results of the company’s missile division’s work in the coming years.

Other companies in Ukraine are also working on missile development. Last year, Fire Point announced the creation of its own ballistic missiles, the FP-7 and FP-9.

Recently, Ukraine and Germany agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of air defense and accelerate the development of ballistic missile interception systems.

Against this backdrop, the Ukrainian Freya Project, which envisages the creation of a European ballistic missile shield, is drawing attention.
