At night, four convoys of equipment of the Armed Forces of Belarus advanced toward the border with Lithuania.
Belarusian monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” reported this.
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus also announced the movement of equipment.
According to the official statement, the redeployment of one of the military divisions of the mechanized unit is part of a combat readiness check. It is noted that the military was reinforced by the air defense units.
“The personnel must perform a number of tasks, including organizing the district’s protection and defense, its engineering equipment, and the implementation of rear and technical support activities,” the statement says.
According to “Belarusian Gayun,” this is the 358th separate mechanized battalion of the 120th brigade, stationed in the Uruchcha microdistrict in Minsk.
The unit is advancing in at least four columns, accompanied by a military vehicle inspection. The total number of equipment is approximately 74 units.
35 infantry fighting vehicles, 21 Ural trucks, 2-3 units of UAZs, 8 KamAZs, 2 fuel trucks, a crane, and a cargo manipulator were spotted.
The column was advancing towards the town of Ashmyany at the border with Lithuania.
As previously reported, Belarus announced the creation of the so-called “people’s militia,” which can engage 100 to 150 thousand people.
