Satellite images confirm the destruction of an arsenal belonging to the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of Russia’s Defense Ministry near the village of Kotluban in the Volgograd region by FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles on February 12.

The CyberBoroshno community published the images.

The photos capture the destruction of one ammunition bunker with an external area of about 3,600 square meters and an internal area of about 1,200 square meters on the grounds of military unit 57229/51. The facility is described as one of the largest ammunition storage sites used by the Russian military.

According to open-source analysts, the site has been used to store and handle ammunition supplied from Iran and North Korea, as indicated by the large number of shipping containers of various sizes visible on the territory.

Ukraine’s General Staff reported that the by FP-5 Flamingo long-range cruise missiles targeted the strategic arsenal.

Local residents reported explosions in the village at around 1:30 a.m., followed by secondary detonations at the warehouse site.

CyberBoroshno analysts noted that the damaged bunker appears to be a newer type of shelter, the construction of which is visible in Google Earth imagery from 2021.

The structure has internal dimensions of 30 meters by 40 meters, giving a total area of about 1,200 square meters. A monolithic concrete roof and an earthen embankment protect it. Inside, there are 12 support columns and four vehicle entrances.

According to analysts, such a bunker can accommodate approximately 38 standard 40-foot shipping containers.

Smaller 20-foot containers can hold 276 boxed 152 mm artillery rounds or 264 boxes containing two 122 mm rounds each.

Each 20-foot container can also store 160 boxes of 122 mm rockets for the Grad multiple launch rocket system or 275 boxes containing two 120 mm mortar rounds.

Assuming the bunker was used to store artillery ammunition and that 40-foot containers hold roughly twice the volume of 20-foot containers, analysts estimate that between 21,000 and 40,000 artillery rounds may have been destroyed, depending on caliber.
