Ukrainian paratroopers showed the first hours of a military operation in the Kursk region of Russia.

The video of the combat work has been released by the Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

In particular, they showed demining, the breaching of the border, the destruction of Russian defense lines.

As well as the work of Ukrainian aviation and artillery, the movement of armored vehicles and captured Russian soldiers.

The footage shows Ukrainian soldiers on armored vehicles entering the territory of the Russian invaders.

Remote mine clearance systems are used to create passages in Russian minefields.

The footage shows a special vehicle based on the American Stryker wheeled armored fighting vehicle. This is most likely an M1132 engineering vehicle equipped with LWMR (Light Weight Mine Roller) mine rollers. They are designed to mine defensive lines during offensive operations. The Armed Forces of Ukraine received this equipment from the United States as part of military assistance.

The video also shows a PT-91 Twardy tank, which was donated by Poland to strengthen the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

“The first hours of the Defense Forces’ offensive in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation on August 6, 2024. A day that will go down in the history of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Careful preparation, planning, suddenness, fighting spirit and information silence were decisive at the initial stage of the operation,” the statement said.

The Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces emphasized that everything at that moment depended on the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers of all branches of the Armed Forces involved in this operation on the territory of the aggressor country.

As previously reported, in the first hours of the military operation in the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the participation of paratroopers from the 80th Brigade and the support of a tank, captured the Russian Sudzha crossing point. The Russian soldiers were forced to surrender to save their own lives.

An offensive operation by the Ukrainian Defense Forces has been underway in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation since August 6. The Ukrainian government had set up the first military commandant’s office in the part of the Kursk region controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some of the Russian soldiers were forced to surrender to Ukrainian troops.
