The Polish Army buys new technical reconnaissance vehicles based on Rosomak armored personnel carriers.
The purchase was reported on the website of the Armed Forces of Poland.
On November 4, the Military Property Agency entered into an agreement with Rosomak SA, part of the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa consortium, to supply another batch of Rosomak wheeled APCs in the Rosomak-WRT technical intelligence version.
The agreement provides for the supply of 11 units of specialized armored vehicles worth 144 million zlotys (about 29 million US dollars).
Rosomak-WRT technical reconnaissance vehicles are expected to be delivered in 2024-2025.
In the period of 2016-2018, the Armed Forces of Poland were transferred to 33 Rosomak-WRT vehicles. They were delivered as part of a contract awarded on June 20, 2014.
The cost of this order was 233.5 million zlotys.
Rosomak-WRT is designed to provide action for motorized infantry units that are armed with Rosomak armored personnel carriers.
The crew of Rosomak-WRT includes: commander, driver, two mechanics and optional paramedic.
The design and special equipment of Polish technical reconnaissance vehicles allows to diagnose, extract and evacuate damaged equipment, repair and perform other tasks in the field of emergency rescue and technical reconnaissance.
The machine can also conduct observations and provides its own self-defense, as it is equipped with a remotely controlled mount with a 7.62 mm machine gun.
Among other things, Rosomak-WRT equipment includes: a remote controlled boom with a lifting capacity of 1.3 tons, diagnostic, service, evacuation and rescue equipment, on-board electric generator, welding machines, a set for rapid electrical installation and mechanical repair, day and night cameras for surveillance.
