Falcon Autumn exercises have started in the Netherlands. The maneuvers involve military from the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and the United States.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the country.
It is noted that the coordination will last for three weeks. The military will practice an attack by an unnamed enemy on a NATO state.
“Russia’s invasion of Ukraine makes everyone look facts in the eye: security and freedom cannot be taken for granted. Therefore, it is important to be able to respond quickly. Deployment, relocation and creation of a military camp are things that will be worked out,” the Dutch Ministry of Defense said.
More than 1,000 soldiers and 37 helicopters are involved in the exercises. The Dutch military will use Apache, Cougar and Chinook helicopters. The US military will use its Black Hawk and Polish troops will use Мi-8 and Мi-17 helicopters.
The exercises will take place in the provinces of South Holland, Gelderland, Limburg, Drenthe and Friesland.
The first part of the exercise will be to enhance the joint work of the military.
At the end of Falcon Autumn, in mid-November, the military will conduct a joint operation – this will be an air assault on the former Valkenburg airfield.
It should be reminded that the other day Boeing delivered the first Apache helicopter to the Royal Netherlands PS AH-64E version 6 or v6.
It is the first helicopter to be handed over to the Netherlands under the 28 AH-64 D-Model Apache upgrade contract. The parties signed an agreement on modernization in 2019, and the delivery of the latest model is scheduled for 2025.
