The Ukrainian industry already produces 40 Bohdana artillery systems per month. These are probably self-propelled and towed versions.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during the Defense Industries Forum DFNC³.
“We were able to establish the production of our domestic artillery in record time and with high quality. We are already producing 40 Bohdana systems per month. This is a serious result. We are grateful to the manufacturers,” the President said.
Serial production of the Ukrainian Bohdana self-propelled artillery system began in early 2023.
Since then, at least six versions of this self-propelled artillery system have been produced, with different chassis and cabin configurations.
In May 2024, production rates of 10 units per month were reported.
And in late October of the same year, President Zelensky stated that Ukraine had been producing up to 20 Bohdana self-propelled wheeled artillery systems per month.
At the end of March 2025, a representative of the manufacturing plant told reporters that production had reached ‘20 or more’ vehicles per month.
In April, it was already 36. And as of October, it was 40 units per month.
For safety reasons, the production process was dispersed among several locations, including abroad.
Duplication of production has also been introduced. No part is manufactured in just one place, which avoids stopping the process even if a single production site is hit.
The cost of one Ukrainian self-propelled artillery system ranges from €2.3 to 2.8 million. The price liekly depends on the chassis used for a particular system.
