Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Mariusz Błaszczak arrived in Kyiv and brought a batch of Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzers.
He shared that yesterday in Kyiv, he spoke with Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland.
“And he brought us “Krabs” – those will powerfully feed our enemy with fire,” Zelensky said.
According to him, the key topic of our negotiations was further defense cooperation.
“But it is important not only what we talked about, but also how we talked. With absolute confidence in the Ukrainian future. In the Ukrainian European future. The same goes for all my other conversations, and it is always felt,” the Ukrainian President emphasized.
The first AHS Krab self-propelled artillery gun-howitzers, handed over to Ukraine by Poland, are already executing combat missions at the front.
In early June 2022, Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, announced that the 155-mm AHS Krab self-propelled artillery gun-howitzers handed over by Poland were ready to be deployed for the combat missions at the front.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also received command vehicles for these artillery systems.
In addition, it was reported that Ukraine would be signing an agreement to acquire approximately 60 Krab 155-mm self-propelled gun-howitzers.
For reference: The licensed British AS90 howitzer turret is being used in the Krab’s production. The barrel length is 52 calibers.
It is mounted on the South Korean K9 Thunder ACS chassis.
It is stated that the effective range of fire is 30 kilometers, and the maximum range is 40 kilometers. These howitzers can fire up to six rounds per minute.
