A drone operator from the Unmanned Systems Forces attacked a Russian Mi-28 combat helicopter in the Belgorod region.

Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces USF, reported this.

The Commander published video footage from the drone’s camera, captured at the moment of the attack on the enemy aircraft.

Judging by the footage, the Ukrainian FPV drone attempted to strike the tail boom of the Mi-28, as serious damage to this structural element usually results in a crash.

According to Robert Brovdi, the attack on the Russian helicopter took place near the village of Vyazove.

There is currently no confirmation that the Russian helicopter was shot down. The drone attacked the Mi-28 from above and behind, and it likely veered off course as it passed through the rotor blades. It is possible that the drone was knocked off course or destroyed by the blades or airflow.

Soldiers from the 427th Rarog Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade were involved in the operation. The Commander did not disclose any further details.

In late April, Ukrainian drones struck Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters in the Voronezh region.

The drones flew into a field airstrip more than 150 km from the front line. There, the occupiers were refueling and conducting technical inspections of their aircraft.
