Ukrainian drones hit Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters in Russia’s Voronezh region.
Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, reported on this.
The drones flew into a field landing site at a depth of more than 150 km from the front line.
There were four helicopters on the site, which underwent operational refueling and technical inspection.
The Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters were struck on April 29 by crews from the 429th Achilles separate unmanned systems brigade and the 43rd separate artillery brigade. The operation was jointly developed with the Alpha Group (Special Operations Center «А» of the Security Service of Ukraine).
“The strike was on the rear central part of the engine compartment, bypassing the main rotor blades,” Magyar reported.
