U.S. Air Force C-17 Military Transport Aircraft Landed in Moscow

On the morning of August 25, a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft with tail number RCH4555 landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.

This is confirmed by data from the flight-tracking service AirNav, analyzed by Militarnyi, which shows the aircraft flew to Russia but turned off its transponder while over Russian territory.

At the same time, according to Flightradar24, the aircraft departed from Riga at 8:50 a.m. and landed at Vnukovo at 10:04 a.m.

Before arriving in Latvia, the plane departed from the U.S. Camp Springs Air Force Base, where a special aviation unit responsible for transporting top U.S. officials is based.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said he had no information about the landing of this U.S. aircraft in Moscow.

The C-17 Globemaster III is a U.S. heavy military transport aircraft designed to rapidly deploy troops, oversized cargo, and heavy equipment over long distances.

Thanks to its in-flight refueling capability, the C-17 has a virtually unlimited range, making it a key asset for the U.S. and NATO countries for rapid force deployment, humanitarian missions, and evacuating the wounded anywhere in the world.
