A Russian Mi-28N helicopter was shot down by a Shrike 10 FPV drone manufactured by Ukrainian defense tech company SkyFall.

The manufacturer shared this with Militarnyi.

427th Rarog Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces performed the operation in Russia’s Belgorod region, near the settlement of Vyazove.

On September 29, 2025, the 1st Unmanned Systems Battalion “Predators of the Heights” of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade used the same drone model to shoot down an Mi-8 worth $10 million, according to the soldiers of the Baltic Group crew.

At the time, this was the first confirmed case of a helicopter being destroyed in the air by an FPV drone.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Oryx monitoring project has documented at least 14 destroyed and six damaged Russian Mi-28 helicopters.

Ukrainian Company SkyFall

SkyFall is a Ukrainian defense tech company that combines a large R&D center, scalable production lines, and the certified SkyFall Academy for training instructor pilots and technicians.

The manufacturer is known for such UAVs as the Shrike 10 FPV drone, the Vampire drone bomber, which has been used by the Ukrainian military since 2023 and became the most effective means of destruction on the front in 2025, and the P1-SUN interceptor drone, which received a new version with an integrated AI module for autonomous target detection and destruction in June.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen reported that the possibility of opening production facilities of the Ukrainian company in Denmark is currently being considered.

SkyFall has launched a strategic partnership with technology giant Airbus to strengthen air defense, while the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said Ukraine was ready to help the United States with drones after visiting the company’s production facilities on July 11.

The Ukrainian manufacturer will also attract EU funds to finance defense technologies with the support of the Polish National Development Bank (BGK) under Pillar II of the European Commission’s Ukraine Facility program.

According to the developers, Ukrainian defenders have already destroyed enemy personnel and equipment worth tens of billions of dollars using SkyFall drones.
