Ukrainian artillery has destroyed the Russian Grad 122mm multiple rocket launcher on the KamAZ-5350 chassis.

The image of the burned MLRS was published by People’s Deputy Yurii Misyagin.

Analysts from Ukraine Weapons Tracker claim that this is the first confirmed destruction of the Russian 2B26 Grad MLRS in Ukraine.

According to Yurii Misyagin, the soldiers of the 44th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spotted the Russian 2B26 MLRS on the basis of the KamAZ-5350 wheeled chassis in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region.

In the first published image, a Russian MLRS stands near a field road. It was spotted and filmed by a Ukrainian drone.

And the second image shows the result of the fire engagement of the Russian 2B26 Grad system on the КамАЗ-5350 chassis.

According to Misyagin, the Russian 122mm multiple launch rocket system was destroyed by the American M982 Excalibur precision artillery projectile.

The M982 Excalibur is a 155mm extended-range guided artillery shell. Its firing range depends on the artillery system. At the same time, it is crucial that these shells can be fired from any modern NATO standard artillery system.

The main difference between the 2B26 launcher compared to the “classic” Grad MLRS is the transfer of a rocket launcher from the Ural-375D chassis to the KamAZ-5350 chassis.

Russian invasion forces have been using multiple rocket launchers in the Donbas against Ukraine since 2015.

In November 2021, an OSCE drone recorded 13 MLRS units of the Russian invasion forces near the village of Ternove.

Among them were at least two 2B26 launchers.
