A drone pilot of the 68th Separate Ranger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush successfully destroyed an enemy FPV drone with fiber optic control.

The corresponding video was published by serhii_flash Telegram channel.

According to the report, a Russian fiber-optic drone was moving along the road to attack previously spotted Ukrainian equipment.

Along the route, the drone was detected by a similar type of drone.

The Ranger Brigade’s UAV operator began maneuvering to intercept the enemy drone.

The Ukrainian drone outmaneuvered the enemy, turning around and destroying the enemy FPV drone with a top-down attack.

Interceptor drones

Ukrainian Defense Forces have long been using FPV drones as a means of air defense.

This allows not only to save scarce and expensive anti-aircraft missiles, but also to respond more quickly to threats from Russian reconnaissance drones.

Their interception is equally important, as they are used to coordinate the firing of howitzers, rocket artillery, or ballistic missiles.

Front-line attack drones of the Lancet type have also been targeted by FPV interceptors many times.

Intercepting FPV drones, as one of Russia’s main means of destruction, will help to significantly reduce the loss of equipment and personnel and reduce the enemy’s defensive and offensive capabilities.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are developing reusable interceptor drones that capture enemy drones using nets.
