Ukraine Unveils Last Shadow T200 Drone Interceptor With Video Spoofing Protection

Ukrainska Bavovna has unveiled a new unmanned interceptor aircraft, the Last Shadow T200.

The presentation took place at an event organized by the Technological Forces of Ukraine association. Company representatives also provided Militarnyi with more details about the development.

The drone is designed to protect cities and operate along the line of contact, including intercepting enemy targets such as Shahed/Geran, Gerbera and Molniya drones.

The aircraft has a stated maximum speed of 300 km/h and a practical ceiling of 5 km. It has an endurance of one hour at cruising speed and about 40 minutes at higher speeds.

Its initially stated range was 70 km, but during recent combat tests, the drone covered a distance of 122 km while maintaining a high-quality video link.

The system has a codified warhead and an initiation board that can be configured to meet operators’ needs. It uses a PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal when engaging aerial targets. The drone itself is also codified, and work on it began last year.

“It has a very good power margin. About 7 kg of thrust. In fact, much less is used. So the motor and propeller can actually power two of these aircraft. It reaches 35 m/s — that is a very good figure,” a representative of Ukrainska Bavovna said.

The aircraft features a movable camera that can be lowered and raised to improve target search, as well as a system for switching between video channels and frequency bands to counter the Russian Shtora image-spoofing system.

The drone’s airframe is currently manufactured using 3D printing, but the manufacturer plans to switch to molding within several months to increase strength and allow the drone to be reused after landing.

The developers are also integrating an automatic guidance module into the Last Shadow T200. It will allow the pilot to acquire a target by toggling a switch, after which the drone will engage the target autonomously.

Ukrayinska Bavovna is maximizing the localization of its component base in Ukraine and, as an integrator, provides joint R&D, testing and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) services to foreign partners.

To train operators, the company has partnered with the Dovzhyk pilot school, where more than 70 veterans train crews to operate various types of drones, including interceptors.
