Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries after a three-day pause urged by the United States.
The Financial Times reports.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is no longer restricted from carrying out such attacks.
According to him, Ukraine refrained from attacking Russian energy infrastructure for three days at Washington’s request. Meanwhile, Russia continued to strike Ukrainian energy facilities.
Zelensky also noted that Russian attacks had killed more than 100 civilians over the past week.
The President of Ukraine said that U.S. officials had warned the Ukrainian military that intelligence sharing could be suspended if Ukraine did not halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
Later, the U.S. side attributed the problems with information sharing to technical glitches.
Zelensky also linked restrictions on Starlink services to pressure on Ukraine. According to him, disruptions to satellite communications complicated frontline operations and strikes on Russian military targets at medium range.
The President said Ukraine could agree to another pause in strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, even if Russia continued attacking Ukrainian facilities.
However, Kyiv would demand additional interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems from the United States in exchange for agreeing to such a pause.
Militarnyi previously reported that despite the energy truce announced by the U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian forces launched ballistic missile strikes against energy facilities in Kyiv, including the CHPP-4 thermal power plant, during the night of October 14.
In addition, on the night of October 14, SpaceX restricted the operating speed of Starlink terminals while in motion, affecting the work of Ukrainian strike drones and interceptor drones.
