In 2026, Ukraine plans to launch its first clean room dedicated to microelectronics research and development.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation, announced the project and shared that it is being funded by the Innovation Development Fund, according to DOU.

The launch probability is currently estimated at 80%, and the preparatory phase has already started in partnership with the Kyiv School of Economics and a Swiss technical university.

Together with international partners and industry associations, the first research projects in the field of chip manufacturing are being developed.

At the same time, a Chip Act bill, aligned with EU standards and aimed at integrating Ukraine into the European microelectronics market, is being prepared.

The creation of a clean room will become a key element of the future infrastructure for developing high-tech manufacturing.

In 2023, the Ministry of Digital Transformation presented a long-term microelectronics development strategy that envisions building a chip manufacturing plant by 2030.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved this strategy in January 2025, paving the way to form a national microchip industry.
