Ukraine to Become Full-Cycle Satellite Production Hub for GomSpace and Stetman

The Ukrainian company Stetman and the Danish company GomSpace will establish a joint venture to manufacture satellites in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Stepanets, a representative of Stetman, shared this information in a comment to Militarnyi. GomSpace and Stetman have already signed an agreement.

“The enterprise will handle the full cycle of satellite production,” Stepanets noted.

This involves full-scale production facilities capable of manufacturing satellites for both Ukrainian and foreign needs.

“There is also already talk of using components localized in Ukraine as part of this activity,” he added.

This project is also important for the development of sustainable European communications.

Stetman is a Ukrainian technology company specializing in the production of satellite terminals and the provision of advanced communication services for defense and critical infrastructure.

“We provide reliable and secure satellite communications by creating terminals that withstand the most extreme conditions on the front lines and maintain stable communication for military and government needs,” the company states.

GomSpace is a Danish company that develops and manufactures small CubeSat-type satellites and their components. It helps create space missions for communications, Earth observation, and scientific research.

The company is part of the modern New Space industry, which is making space more accessible and affordable.

In March, it was announced that the Danish company GomSpace would be manufacturing the communications satellites for Ukraine as part of the UASAT LEO program.

The Ukrainian UASAT communications satellite constellation will consist of 300 units. The first satellite is scheduled to launch in October of this year using a SpaceX launch vehicle. By 2027, 120 satellites are to be launched into orbit, and in subsequent years, another 100–105 satellites are expected to be launched annually.
