Ukrainian special services destroyed two Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers at the Marynivka airfield in a joint operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Two additional aircraft were reportedly damaged during the operation.

The Su-34s, which have been used extensively by Russian forces to drop guided bombs along the front line, were stationed at the base for combat missions.

According to Russian sources cited in Ukrainian reports, the operation involved the use of long-range drones.

In addition to targeting aircraft, the operation also damaged technical and logistical infrastructure at the airfield, which is considered critical to the Russian military’s operations in the region.

Russian personnel at the base reportedly conducted maintenance and preflight servicing of the aircraft prior to the strike.
