Video footage of Nona-K howitzer field testing was released on social media.
The Ukrainian military carried out fire tests using this artillery system.
This is necessary for the mastering of this trophy weapon to further use it against the Russian invaders.
According to information from the open sources, at least 7 2B16 Nona-K artillery systems belonging to the invader’s army were captured by the Ukrainian military.
Previously, we reported on one instance of the Ukrainian Defense Forces seizing the Russian Nona-K artillery system. In addition to it, at least one Russian Т-72 tank was captured.
2B16 Nona-K is a Soviet/Russian 120mm towed artillery system. It is a universal artillery system that combines the properties of a mortar and a light howitzer.
In 1986, it was adopted by the Soviet Army. Nona-K was intended for arming artillery detachments of air assault brigades.
This artillery system’s main feature is that it can function as a mortar, a howitzer or an anti-tank gun.
The range of conventional ammunition goes from 850 to 8850 m, for rocket-assisted projectiles it’s 13 km.
The firing rate of the weapon is 8-10 rounds per minute. The artillery system crew consists of five members.
A total of 188 such howitzers were produced.
