Ukraine’s MiG-29 Fighter Jets Target Russian Forces in Tiotkino With AASM Bombs

Combat aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force struck an enemy infantry concentration in the village of Tiotkino, the Kursk oblast.

The video featuring bombing was shared by the Sunflower analytical project’s Telegram channel.

It is reported that the strike with high-precision AASM (Hammer) bombs had been carried out by a MiG-29 multi-purpose fighter jet.

Prior to that, a reconnaissance drone spotted a group of Russian infantry moving toward the Ukrainian border.

After the drone was spotted, the enemy hid in the ruins of a building, which was targeted with a bomb.

The Sunflower analysts noted that Russian infantry often teared up the floor of abandoned buildings and dog shelters there, which had been repeatedly recorded by Ukrainian Ground Forces.

“…. well, the aviation helped them dig a mass grave,” wrote the project’s representatives.

Recently, on March 9, it was reported that aviation had conducted a bombing strike on an enemy object in the same village.

The target was a hangar with enemy armored vehicles and personnel.

Intelligence recorded how the enemy had driven a pair of armored personnel carriers and armored combat vehicles into the hangar at night. The enemy object was struck by GBU-62 JDAM-ER bombs.

AASM

AASM is a modernization kit for free-falling unguided aerial bombs, similar to the US JDAM.
It consists of a front part with a guidance system and flaps, and a rear part with an accelerator that increases the range.

France has two types of AASMs in service: Hammer-250 for Mk. 82 bombs (227 kg) and Hammer-1000 for Mk. 84 (908 kg).

The nose part of the kit can be equipped with three variants of guidance systems: inertial with GPS correction, inertial with a thermal imaging homing head, or inertial with laser guidance.
