On the night of August 1, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Syvash railway bridge in the Chonhar area, which connects the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region with Crimea.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Although official sources report only that the bridge was struck, an analyst named Kavun posted a photo showing critical damage to the bridge on X, which likely renders it unusable.

The bridge is a crucial element of Russian troops’ military logistics. Through it, the invaders can move personnel, weapons, military equipment, ammunition, and other supplies between Crimea and the occupied areas of the Kherson region.

This junction remains one of the most vulnerable points in the supply chain due to the limited number of alternative routes.

In addition to the Syvash Bridge, the Ukrainian military also struck a railway bridge near Vladislavivka in Crimea at the same time. The Defense Forces noted that the strikes are aimed at reducing Russia’s military-economic potential and disrupting its military logistics.

This summer, Ukrainian forces have already attacked three railway bridges that form critical elements of the Russian military’s logistics system in the southern sector and in Crimea.
