Ukraine and Poland will cooperate in the production of ammunition, maintenance of armored vehicles and artillery, and strengthening of air defense.

Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, announced this on his Telegram page.

This is how he outlined the results of signing a memorandum on expanding existing industrial cooperation between the Polish arms group PGZ (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa) and the Joint Stock Company Ukroboronprom.

Yesterday, on February 3, 2025, the press service of the Polish Ministry of Defense announced on its X (formerly Twitter) page that a memorandum had been signed in Kyiv.

Cezary Tomczyk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland, and Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, attended the signing.

Piotr Zawieja and Marcin Idzik, members of the PGZ Management Board, and Mykhailo Shevchenko, on behalf of Ukroboronprom, signed the memorandum.

Along with the Polish deputy defense minister, the economic mission also included 10 representatives of the largest state-owned arms companies interested in cooperating with Ukraine. The published photos show a number of meetings, the details of which have not yet been disclosed.

Since April 2023, it has been known that Ukraine and Poland have been cooperating in producing 125mm tank ammunition. It was then that one of the Ukrainian defense companies signed an agreement with the Polish Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa.

According to recent news reports, the Polish private company MISTA has restored and modernized more than 150 armored personnel carriers to the BTR-70DI version, the final recipient of which may be Ukraine.
