UAVs attacked Moscow Domodedovo International Airport

Drones attacked the Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow.

The videos of the attack were published on the X social media (Twitter).

According to Russian media, all the drones were shot down, but it is unclear why the local population could spot explosions at the airport.

Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, also confirmed that all the drones had been shot down and noted that the facility was not damaged.

Upon arrival, employees reported heavy smoke and fire on the airport premises.

It is worth noting that a large Moscow oil refinery is located near Domodedovo International Airport in the Kapotnya district.

It is likely that the drones were targeting this facility, as attacks on oil refineries have been increasing in Russia for several days in a row.

Militarnyi previously reported that drones had struck a Syzran oil refinery on the morning of March 16.

“As a result, a refinery unit on the territory of the Syzran refinery caught fire. The attempt to attack the Novokuibyshevsk refinery was stopped,” the governor of the Samara region said.

A drone attacked the territory of a Syzran oil refinery around 7 a.m., starting a fire over an area of 500 square meters.

On the night of Friday, March 15, drones hit an oil refinery in the Kaluga region of Russia.

Prior to that, several dozen drones massively attacked Russian facilities on the night of March 13. In Ryazan, drones hit an oil refinery.
