Ukraine’s Defence Forces attacked the Baltimore military air base in Voronezh with missiles.
According to preliminary information, the strike hit a military aircraft parking lot as well as the grounds of the former Voronezh Military Aviation Engineering University, the monitoring community Exilenova+ reported.
Baltimore air base is one of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ key aviation facilities in the region and is located right next to the grounds of the former university.
The airbase is home to the 47th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment, part of the 105th Mixed Aviation Division of Russia’s 6th Army of Air and Air Defence Forces.
The regiment primarily operates Su-34 frontline bombers, which Russian forces actively use to carry out airstrikes, as well as missile and bomb attacks across Ukraine.

The Voronezh Military Aviation Engineering University previously specialised in training military aviation engineers and technicians. In 2012, it became part of the Zhukovsky – Gagarin Air Force Academy.
The adjacent university grounds and airfield facilities are used to maintain and house combat aircraft, as well as support their sorties.
The exact extent of the damage to the facilities and possible losses of Russian aircraft are still being assessed.
