The new UK government is preparing to cease the export of British arms and components to Israel.

The Times of Israel reported on this.

The ban, which the UK government is preparing, concerns the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

According to representatives of the Labor Party, Israel has ignored all international norms and is destroying all infrastructure and residential areas.

The export restrictions should make Israel consider its actions, as British companies play a very important role in supplying components for Israeli equipment.

This applies first to modern F-35I fighter jets, where the total share of British components is more than 40%. In addition, they use British ejection seats by Martin Baker, which cannot be replaced.

British companies also support the Israeli army’s armored vehicles and supply components for Merkavaq tanks, new Eitan armored personnel carriers, and others.

In general, the UK sells components for Israeli F-15, F-16, and F-35 fighter jets, helicopters, submarines, and body armor.

Last year, exports to Israel were estimated at £18.2 million.

In June 2024, Reuters discovered that the cost of approving new weapons licenses by the United Kingdom plummeted after the war began.

The cost of permits issued for the sale of military equipment to Israel fell by more than 95 percent to a 13-year low.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Israeli government ordered an additional 25 F-35I fighters to form the third combat squadron of the country’s air force.
