Skelya Fighters Eliminated Invaders Who Crossed Border in Kharkiv Region

Fighters from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment ‘Skelya’ thwarted an attempt by Russian invaders to build up forces after infiltrating across the state border in the Kozacha Lopan area of the Kharkiv region.

They released a video of this operation on Friday, July 17, on their social media accounts.

In addition, the unit reported that it had completely cleared a section of the state border near the village of Hraniv.

After completing this combat mission, they evacuated a group of servicemen who had held their positions in the area for 18 days.

“The commander of the 4th Special Purpose Regiment, Ranger Corps personally led a motorized group and moved toward front lines to withdraw his fighters,” the 425th Separate Assault Regiment ‘Skelya’ reported.

Skelya had already reported in early July on the elimination of Russian invaders who were attempting to seize the settlement of Kozacha Lopan and the village of Hraniv in the Kharkiv region.

For the Russians, Kozacha Lopan is of critical importance for ensuring logistics in this sector, as well as for advancing offensive operations toward the city of Kharkiv.

In addition, this and other nearby settlements are necessary for them to create a so-called buffer zone, the establishment of which the Russian president has long demanded of his army.
