In Moldova, near the border with Ukraine, fragments of a Russian Shahed drone were found.

Moldovan Border Police reported about this.

Fragments of a strike drone were found on Sunday, February 11.

Remains of the UAV were discovered near the village of Etulia, Vulcănești district, near the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.

“Immediately, the information was shared with competent authorities and access was restricted in the area where the drone wreckage fell,” the report said.

The department noted that there were no risks or dangers to civilian residents in the area, and that the authorities had taken all necessary measures to maintain public order, calm and safety.

Moldovan border guards published a photo of a found wreckage in the middle of a field, noting that they were identified as Shahed wreckage.

They suggested that the discovered wreckage might belong to one of the drones shot down by Ukrainian air defense during the Russian attack on Odesa on the night of February 9-10.

This is not the first case of fall of Russian weapons on the territory of Moldova, with which invaders shell Ukraine.

So in October 2022, a Russian cruise missile fell in the area of the Moldovan settlement of Naslavcea, Oknitsky district, near the border with Ukraine.

Then the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova reported that the Russian missile had been shot down by Ukrainian air defense. The moment the missile fell was captured by an external CCTV camera.

Due to the missile`s fall, windows were shattered in several private houses in the village. No injuries were reported among local residents.
