Ukrainian volunteers have delivered Snatch Land Rover armored vehicles to the military.
The Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation said that they have sent the first five Snatch Land Rovers. In total, it is planned to send 30 such vehicles.
“In early November, we reported to you on the contracted batch of wheeled and tracked armored vehicles. And the first five Snatch Land Rovers out of 30 have already been delivered,” the foundation said.
The foundation’s specialists converted this armored vehicle to make space inside for more personnel.
The vehicles were sent to the military from the following units:
The British lightly armored Snatch Land Rover is designed to protect against bullets and debris.
The SUV is equipped with armored glass, a fully armored body that protects drivers and personnel who will be transported in it.
After being remodeled by Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, it can accommodate 6 to 8 people.
The vehicles should allow safe delivery of items, ammunition and equipment to positions.
“At the same time, people inside feel comfortable and, most importantly, they are protected from bullets, debris, and anything that could damage their health or life,” the foundation noted.
This is not the first time Ukrainian troops have received Snаtch Land Rover vehicles. Back in 2021, Latvia donated 7 Snаtch Land Rover medical vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Snatch Land Rover lightly armored vehicles were developed in the UK for patrolling during the Northern Ireland Troubles and introduced as an upgrade to the Land Rover Defender in 1992.
