The Ruta missile uses a high-precision guidance system developed using Spanish technologies.

The Spanish guidance system by UAV Navigation – Grupo Oesía provides high accuracy in striking targets at long range, according to the Spanish outlet Infodefensa.

The missile has been tested in real combat conditions, including environments with GNSS jamming and spoofing attacks.

Ruta has autonomous flight capabilities, target-referenced navigation, optical guidance in the terminal phase, and the ability to conduct coordinated operations as part of a swarm. This allows it to perform complex synchronized maneuvers to evade air-defense systems.

According to the developers, the missile can adapt to changing combat conditions and integrate with Ukrainian command-and-control platforms.

Through its company UAV Navigation, which specializes in CNG technologies for UAVs, Grupo Oesía is responsible for designing, integrating, and testing the CNG system installed in the missile.

In October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had, for the first time, struck a sea platform using the Ruta drone-missile.
