The Russian invasion forces are preparing Kherson for street fighting and continue to violate the laws and customs of warfare against the civilian population.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the morning briefing.

It is noted that in the temporarily occupied Kherson, the Russian military disguised as civilians occupy civilian premises and reinforce their positions inside for conducting street battles.

“At the same time, Russian propagandist journalists plan to shoot a report in the city about the alleged extermination of the civilian population by the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the report says.

According to the General Staff, Russian troops continue to grossly violate the laws and customs of war in relation to the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

“The Russians continue looking for subversive groups and spotters in the Kakhovka settlement of the Kherson region. Detainees are taken to Hornostaivka and forced to self-incriminate under torture,” the summary stated.

Also, according to the General Staff, similar measures are taking place in Borivske and Shchedryshcheve settlements of Luhansk region: mass searches, seizure of mobile phones, abduction of people, who are taken to an unknown destination.

The Kherson region occupation authorities continue to deport the local residents from the occupied part of the Kakhovka region.

The invaders are forcibly deporting the residents of Hola Prystan, Oleshky, Kakhovka, Hornostaivka, Velyka Lepetykha and Verkhnii Rohachyk communities. The invaders place their military in the vacated residences.

First of all, they are “evacuating” settlements along the Dnipro River, where the Russian invaders are now actively setting up a defense line.

In the Kherson region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian invaders are mass destroying private boats on the banks of the Dnieper. The invaders are appropriating engines and other property from watercraft.

Previously, the Russian occupation administration of the Kherson region announced the possible retreat of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnipro. However, the Ukrainian authorities and the military have repeatedly emphasized that the information about the retreat of Russian troops was false.
