Colonel Vadym Sukharevsky, the Сommander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), is to be dismissed.
Sources in political and military circles confirmed this information.
Instead, Sukharevsky may be entrusted with the command of a newly created army corps.
Discussions on the issue of the USF Commander’s dismissal have been ongoing for several months. Colonel Sukharevsky has been in charge of this military branch since its establishment in 2024.
Vadym Sukharevskyi has not specified which army corps he is to lead. Currently, they have been created in the Ground Forces, Air Assault Forces, and Marines of the Ukrainian Navy.
Prior to his appointment as Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Sukharevskyi was Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Before that, he commanded the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which became the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
During his command of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Operational Command South of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Since 2014, Vadym Sukharevskyi has been involved in fighting off Russian aggression, and on April 13, 2014, he participated in the first battle of the war in Donbas, near Semenivka.
At that time, the senior lieutenant opened fire from his APC at Igor Girkin’s militants who were attacking the operators of the SSU`s Alpha Group.
In 2016, Vadym Sukharevskyi was appointed to command the 1st Line Battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade, which was later reformatted into the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion.
Under his command, the battalion performed tasks in the Mariupol and Horlivka sectors until 2021.
