Russian troops attacked a vehicle of the Proliska humanitarian evacuation mission with FPV drones during the evacuation of civilians from the village of Zorya near Kostyantynivka.
Radio Liberty reported on this.
Mission’s worker Yevhen Tkachov shared that he was helping evacuate a local couple when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a drone carrying fragmentation munitions.
Two other civilian cars carrying people trying to leave the village were also part of the convoy.
Following the initial strike, two additional drones reportedly targeted individuals on the ground.
Tkachov and one of the civilians, a woman, sustained injuries. She and her husband, who was described as being in shock, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The Russian military committed another war crime — this time during the declared “Easter Truce.”
Despite the announcement of a temporary ceasefire over the Easter holiday, Ukrainian military officials report that Russian forces have continued offensive actions across multiple sectors of the front lines.
On the morning of April 20, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief, reported 59 shelling incidents and five ground assaults by Russian forces. These included one engagement in the Starobilsk sector, three in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka areas of the Donetsk sector, and one in the Zaporizhzhia sector near Stepove.
Between 18:00 on April 19 and midnight on April 20, Ukrainian forces recorded 387 artillery strikes and 19 assault operations, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that while the overall level of fighting appeared to have decreased in some areas on Easter morning, Russian forces continued to attack in several directions and inflict losses on Ukrainian forces.
