Amid the loss of a large amount of its own equipment, Russia has supplied Uganda with various military vehicles and equipment valued at $53 million.

The Russian Embassy in Uganda reported on this.

The published photos show the IMR-1 engineering barrier vehicles, created on the basis of Soviet T-55 tanks and GAZ-66 trucks with KUNGs.

At least one boat on a trawl for road transport was also captured in the photo.

The official transfer ceremony took place on October 26, with the participation of the Russians and Uganda’s political and military leadership.

The report does not specify whether this is a commercial agreement for the supply of military equipment or Russia’s support for the Ugandan government within the framework of bilateral relations.

In September, Kenyan law enforcement officers detained Mikhail Lyapin, an employee of the Russian Embassy, who, according to the investigation, was recruiting local residents to participate in the war against Ukraine.
