Russian Armed Forces Receive Planchet-M-IR Artillery Fire Control Armored Vehicles

The Russian Army has received a batch of Planchet-M-IR armored artillery fire control vehicles.

This was reported by Rostec.

The system is designed to control the fire of artillery, mortar units, and multiple launch rocket systems.

The High-Precision Systems holding company is responsible for manufacturing the system. According to the company, the Planchet-M-IR reduces the time required to prepare input data for artillery fire and increases its accuracy.

The system is integrated with the Russian Army’s drones, enabling it to receive video footage and target coordinates in real time. This allows artillery crews to adjust their fire with greater precision.

Thanks to these capabilities, the Planchet-M-IR is one of the tools used by the Russian occupation army for counter-battery warfare.

The system also features a weather station to measure temperature, atmospheric pressure, and humidity, which are factored into fire preparation.

The Planchet-M-IR is supplied to the Russian army mounted on a Patrol armored vehicle chassis. Operators can work either from inside the vehicle or remotely using portable tablets.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Russian machine-building plant Arsenal had patented a new towed artillery system for coastal defense, based on the 130-mm A-192M Armat naval gun.
