Poland has received a batch of CGR-080 guided missiles and CTM-290 ballistic missiles for its Homar-K multiple launch rocket systems.

The Polish Armaments Agency (Agencja Uzbrojenia) reported this.

The shipment included CGR-080 missiles with a range of up to 80 km, as well as CTM-290 ballistic missiles with a range of up to 290 km.

The Polish defense ministry has not disclosed the quantity of ammunition delivered.

The deliveries are part of a program to modernize Poland’s rocket artillery, which calls for procuring a total of 290 Homar-K launch modules.

In April 2024, Poland ordered an additional 72 Homar-K launch modules along with several thousand rockets of various ranges. The contract with South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace was worth approximately $1.6 billion.

The Homar-K is a Polish modification of the South Korean K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), which is mounted on an eight-wheeled Jelcz chassis and integrated with the Polish TOPAZ fire control system.

The launcher has two transport-launch containers. Each can hold six CGR-080 rockets or one CTM-290 ballistic missile. Thus, a single launcher can carry up to 12 guided rockets or two ballistic missiles.

In April 2024, South Korea successfully tested the CTM-290 ballistic missile for the first time. The launch took place on April 24 at the South Korean Agency for Defense Development (ADD) test site in Anhin in the presence of representatives from the Polish Ministry of Defense.

Production of Homar-K missiles in Poland

In parallel with ammunition deliveries, Poland is working to localize CGR-080 missile production on its own territory. According to the Armaments Agency, the first missiles are expected to roll off the production line at a Polish facility as early as 2028.

In April 2025, Poland’s WB Electronics and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace agreed to jointly produce 239-mm guided missiles.

Subsequently, in December 2025, the Armaments Agency signed a contract with the Hanwha WB Advanced System and Hanwha Aerospace consortium for the supply of Polish-made CGR-080 rockets. Deliveries under this agreement are scheduled to begin in 2030.

In July 2026, Militarnyi reported that preparatory work began on the Hanwha WB Advanced System plant in Gożów Wielkopolski.
