Not far from Saint Petersburg, in the Leningrad region of Russia, a power line pole has been blown up.

The incident occurred in the Gatchina district of the region.

Also, an unknown explosive device was found on another power line pole.

Both events in the territory of the aggressor state were reported on the morning of May 1 by the governor of the Leningrad Region Aleksander Drozdenko.

“At 12:01 p.m. on May 1, a power line support was blown up on the territory of the Susaninsky settlement of the Gatchina district, and an unknown object, presumably an explosive device, was found on another one,” the Russian official posted on social media.

He also shared photos of the aftermath of the explosion and a collapsed metal structure in a wooded area.

Subsequently, Drozdenko wrote that there was no longer a threat of undermining the second power line pole.

He reported that sappers had allegedly removed and deactivated a charge with a fuze from the power line pole.

A Russian official said that despite the incident, the power supply to settlements and civil infrastructure was not interrupted. He noted that the network had switched automatically.

However, according to some Russian propaganda social media, at 1:00 a.m. the lights went off for all consumers who received electricity from the Leningrad NPP. An examination of other poles of the damaged power line is currently underway.

As previously reported, in the Russian city of Belgorod and the region, fires occurred at infrastructure facilities on the night of April 17. Some sources wrote about the blow to the thermal power plant, others reported about the destruction of the substation.

Most propaganda media of the aggressor state claimed the fire to be allegedly caused by the strikes of the Ukrainian drones.
