National Guards soldiers demonstrate burned Russian MT-LB, describe its destruction

Ukrainian defenders demonstrated a burned Russian MT-LB armored personnel carrier on the outskirts of Kharkiv.

A photo of the destroyed equipment was published by the National Guard of Ukraine.

The military also spoke on how this MT-LB was destroyed and how it’s being used now.

The defenders showed a badly burned vehicle with a torn rusting caterpillar tread.

Only metal objects like cartridge cases and cutlery remained inside the crawler armored personnel carrier, everything else burned out.

“The vehicle was the first one in a convoy of three units. It was about 11 pm. This MT-LB came close, and we opened fire. Then [the invaders – ed.] got confused, and they started to move to our rear, passed two hundred meters, and turned here into the field. The rest of the vehicles turned around at the intersection and went away.

We observed from the forest for a little while, and then fired with the RPG-7V [at the MT-LB – ed.],” said the serviceman of the National Guard Dmytro.

The shot was accurate. A small hole is now visible on the right side of the MT-LB stern.

“The RPG hit here. Its shaped charge burned a hole in the armor and detonated ammunition inside the vehicle. It was unclear whether there were any people inside, but later, as you could see, we found human remains [a piece of shin bone – ed.],” – explains Dmytro.

The serviceman added that “the MT-LB we’ve burned on the outskirts of Kharkiv used to belong to the so-called ‘DPR’. It displayed the colors of the so-called ‘republic’, the ‘DPR’ abbreviation, and their ‘coat of arms’.”

Currently, the burned MT-LB serves as a false target for enemy gunners.

MT-LB is a multi-role light APC. It is designed to transport manpower and cargo, and serve as an artillery tractor. Some detachments used it to transport motorized rifle units however, it was not intended for this role.
