Czech defense companies will be repairing Ukrainian tanks and other military vehicles.
Militarnyi informs about this.
On Tuesday, April 19, the Czech Ministry of Defense announced that it will be assisting the Ukrainian side in servicing armored vehicles through the help of the AMOS agency.
The repairs will be done at the facilities of the Czech company in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The first contract will include repairs of the Ukrainian T-64 main tanks at the privately-owned arms trading and production firm Czechoslovak Group.
In the future, other companies may be engaged in the repair of wheeled armored vehicles.
“The Czech Republic became the first partner country to which the Ukrainian side made an official request for the mutual cooperation between Czech and Ukrainian companies in the field of repair the ground equipment that should be put into operation or that was damaged during the hostilities,” said Jana Černochová, Minister of Defense of Czech Republic.
Czech assistance would consist of using the capacities of Czech defense industry enterprises to carry out larger works, including overhaul and commissioning of long-term stored equipment.
Previously, Russia had sent a note of protest to the Czech Republic regarding the transfer of weapons to Ukraine. In Prague, such claims were called “nonsense.”
