Magura Drones to Be Manufactured in the USA: UForce and ReconCraft Sign Memorandum

The Ukrainian company UForce and the American company ReconCraft have signed a memorandum on the licensed production of the Magura family of maritime drones in the United States.

The Wall Street Journal reported on this.

The document was signed last week at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington.

Both companies will provide materials, equipment, and personnel for the project.

ReconCraft co-founder Joe Silkowski stated that the goal of the partnership is to produce hundreds—and eventually even thousands—of Magura maritime drones each year. The value of the deal has not yet been disclosed.

In a comment to Militarnyi, UForce noted that, in adapting the Magura to American needs, it is necessary to take into account the significant differences between conditions in the Black Sea and those in other bodies of water around the world.

According to the company, this difference is so significant that there is no such thing as a “universal maritime drone.”

UForce’s approach involves collaborating with partner countries to develop maritime drones tailored to specific seas and oceans, while preserving the technological culture and approaches that have secured a leading position for Ukrainian developments.

“We are proud that technologies tested on the battlefield in Ukraine will be available to partner countries thanks to UFORCE. Now, not only is the US providing Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems and other weapons for defense, but Ukraine is also becoming a worthy partner for the US in the development of defense technologies. The new policy, approved by the President of Ukraine, has paved the way and created new opportunities to strengthen ties with friendly nations and enhance collective security,” Oleg Rogynskyy, the company’s CEO, shared.

In early June, a Ukrainian Magura-class surface drone sank a target ship during the US-Philippine Balikatan 2026 exercises.

The Green Berets from the 1st Special Operations Group of the US Special Operations Command launched the drone.

Back in March, a multinational naval group led by the Ukrainian Navy, during the NATO REPMUS/Dynamic Messenger 2025 exercises, used Magura V7 maritime drones to “sink” at least one Alliance frigate.
