Lviv repairers delivered the overhauled MiG-29 fighter jet to the AFU

State Enterprise “Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant” overhauled the MiG-29, reports Militarnyi with reference to SC “Ukroboronprom.”

After successful test flights, the aircraft was delivered to the customer – Air Force of the AFU.

During the overhaul, which was carried out for own working capital of the enterprise, LSARP specialists restored the airframe, fuel tanks, hydraulic, fuel and air systems, etc.

It is stated that the performed works provided a service life of 700 flight hours during 8 years of operation and the possibility of its continuation.

The company provided a two-year warranty on the refurbished aircraft and the possibility of its post-warranty maintenance.

Before the customer’s representatives accepted the jet, the ground checks of all technical parameters were performed at the flight test station, and later the test and familiarization flights were conducted.

“Soon the overhauled fighter will defend the Ukrainian airspace again,” – emphasized in the SC “Ukroboronprom.”

In November 2021, it became known that the MOD will pay 2.5 million UAH for the overhaul of another MiG-29 .

Already in 2022, the LSARP plans to complete state trials of the Soviet MiG-29 fighter modernized to the MU2 version.

The МіГ-29МУ2 upgrade option is multipurpose and is supposed to be capable to perform both air-to-air and and air-to-ground missions.
