Kerch Ferry Loses 75% of Capacity in Two Weeks

During two weeks of the Unmanned Systems Forces’ operation Molochka, the Kerch ferry lost 75% of its capacity.

The report came from Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to Brovdi, before the operation began, four ferries regularly carried vehicles and cargo between the ports of Kavkaz and Crimea.

A fifth ferry was held in reserve at the port of Kerch. The vessels are the Lavrentiy, Panagia, Eisk, Maria, and SKS One.

The ferry Eisk was hit on July 12 and 13, then towed to the port of Kerch. According to available information, there are no plans to repair the vessel or return it to service.

The Unmanned Systems Forces targeted SKS One on July 7, 12, and 13. It is now at the bottom of the port of Kamysh-Burun and cannot be repaired.

Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine repeatedly hit Maria during July. It was then towed to the port of Kerch, but there are no plans to return it to service either.

Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine struck Lavrentiy. The vessel has lost its ability to move under its own power and is now used as a barge, which significantly limits its throughput.

Panagia, which was also struck by the units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, and earlier by Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, no longer has its own propulsion and is used as a non-self-propelled barge.

According to Magyar, about 80% of all ferry traffic served the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Before the operation, the ferry crossing handled about 180 to 250 vehicles per day.

It was recently reported that on the night of July 17, 2026, Ukraine’s Defense Forces damaged the Project 10410 patrol ship Svetlyak, which belongs to the FSB Border Guard Service, in temporarily occupied Kerch.
