In South Korea, a KA-1 light turboprop attack aircraft has crashed.

Yonhap reported about this.

This happened in the northeast of the country on Monday, December 26.

Both of its pilots managed to eject.

The KA-1 light attack aircraft belonged to the Republic of Korea Air Force.

The plane reportedly crashed in Hwenseong County, about 140 kilometers east of Seoul, at 11:43 a.m. local time after takeoff from an airbase in the nearby city of Wonju.

There were no reports of damage to civilian homes.

The pilots of the crashed plane have been taken to a nearby hospital, the military said.

The КА-1 light attack aircraft is developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) on the basis of KT-1 single-engine trainer.

The aircraft has four hardpoints, on which it is possible to place various guided and unguided weapons in the form of missiles, 2 containers with 20mm guns or 12.7mm machine guns.

The KT-1 Woongbi South Korean subsonic single-engine turboprop trainer is the first aircraft fully designed and built in South Korea.

It should be reminded that in July this year the first prototype of the South Korean supersonic KF-21 fighter made its first test flight. During the flight, the fighter developed a speed of about 400 kilometers per hour.
